Our Waiting List for Housing Choice Vouchers (HCVs) is currently OPEN. We are taking applications at this time.
We maintain waiting lists for each of our housing programs according to Federal Housing Laws.
Once we receive your application, your name will be put on our waiting list by the date and time the application was received. There is no way of knowing exactly how long of a wait you will have before receiving assistance. However, it is very important that we are able to get in touch with you in writing and/or by phone. Therefore, if you have any changes you will need to let us know so that we can update your application. Quarterly, the FPHA will update the waiting list by contacting all applicants in writing, or by the method designated at initial application. Written communications will be sent by first-class mail to the most current address supplied by the applicant. At this time, you will need to contact our office within 10 business days and let us know, if you are still interested in being on the waiting list for assistance.
*If no response is received or if mail is returned undeliverable by the post office (retain unopened by FPHA in the applicant file) FPHA will withdraw the name. FPHA will document the applicant's file as inactive and remove it from the waiting list.
FPHA Policy:
Generally, when a voucher becomes available, the next family at the top of the waiting list is contacted and screened for eligibility. Once selected from the waiting list, eligible families that meet the income guidelines and fulfill other requirements will receive a voucher. All adult members of the household are required to attend the interview. The interview will be conducted only if the head of household or spouse/co-head provides appropriate documentation of legal identity. If the family representative does not provide the required documentation, the appointment may be rescheduled when the proper documents have been obtained.
Applicants who fail to attend their scheduled interview or fail to reply to the letter within 10 days will have their applications withdrawn, subject to reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities. An applicant may reschedule appointments one time. After a second missed appointment their application will be withdrawn, and the applicant will have to reapply. Your application for the HCV (Section 8) will be withdrawn from our waiting list if you fail to provide all required/requested information.
