Our Waitlist Lists for Public Housing (PH) & Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV) / Section 8 are currently OPEN. We are taking applications at this time.
To apply for the PH or HCV Program, please contact us or stop by our office located at 203 13th St NW, Fort Payne, AL 35967, during our normal office hours.
Please note that applications for the HCV Program are available to be picked up ONLY on Thursdays and returned any day.
Before you begin your application, please note that you must have the following required identification items:
Fully-completed Public Housing Application (all sections must be completed; otherwise, the application will be returned to you and NOT processed)
Current photo ID for household members (18) and older (please provide a clear copy)
Birth certificates for all household members (please provide a clear copy)
Social security cards for all household members (please provide a clear copy)
Fully-completed background check for household members (18) and older
Fully-completed authorization for release form for all household members (18) and older
Proof of income (benefit letters for TANF, SS/SSI, Pension, Unemployment, V.A. Child Support, last (4) check stubs, statement of contributions from friend/family members, etc.) dated within past (60) days
NOTE: The documents listed above are required in order for The Fort Payne Housing Authority to accept your Public Housing application submission. If you submit an application without ALL the documents listed above, it will not be processed, and you will have to REAPPLY.

You must complete the entire application for the application to be valid. Applicants must inform FPHA, in writing, if they have a change of address!
